Women’s Ministry Leadership, M.A.

The Women’s Leadership concentration will help students develop both ministry values and skills to make genuine connections with others. The women’s ministry program will provide leadership skills related to the organization and administration of ladies ministry programs in church, parachurch and mission environments while internalizing a biblical worldview of dependency on God.

There are those interested in or involved in vocational ministry who want to pursue postgraduate study, but pursuing a 75-hour M.Div. is impractical or undesirable. The 48-hour Master of Arts in Local Church Ministry is a wonderful alternative! It includes theology and hermeneutics, spiritual formation and prayer, and a variety of practical ministry courses.

The following types of students are encouraged to consider this program:

Those already having had several years of vocational ministry experience who desire further theological study in order to be better prepared for the pastoral role.
Students desiring additional theological study for their particular field of ministry.
This is a terminal degree program for those who do not plan to pursue a Doctor of Ministry degree in the future.

Ideal Fit

The Master of Arts program in Local Church Ministry is for those who need formal training to serve in the local church.

The concentration of Women’s Leadership will provide a particular emphasis on ministering to the unique needs of women and providing effective programing to help this segment of the congregation to grow spiritually.

I came to Grace after moving from Canada because I felt it was the best institution to receive a Christian education. I have gained so much in my own Christian walk, and feel like my relationship with Christ has been strengthened by the excellent faculty and subject content. All resources for each class truly were by qualified theologians and authors, and the discussions allowed for further learning. It was a jam packed program, but top-notch for a Masters of Arts program. I know that after graduating from Grace Seminary that I will be able to remain in contact with faculty, staff and fellow students, and these connections will last a lifetime – right into eternity!

Course Overview

Students will explore the various roles women played in the OT against the backdrop of the ancient world.

Instead of trying to fix others in pain, soul care attempts to incarnate the presence of God in the life of another and allow God to use you to be his hands and feet.

This course will help you see that ministry is not just about doing the ministry yourself, but teaching others to join you in various arenas of ministry.

Students will seek to understand how people thought, communicated, and lived in the ancient world during the OT, NT and Intertestamental Periods.

Through course material, individual reflection, and small group experiences, learners will explore the biblical foundations of relationships, personal relating style, small group dynamics, and roles and conflict management skills.
